Programs

Thematic programs are a way of organising development and capitalising on relations and synergies, which enables Ibis in co-operation with partners to plan and pursue a number of interlinked activities within a common theme. A thematic program is furthermore a strategic space of opportunities shared by Ibis and partners.

The programmatic method implies engaging and developing Ibis' and partners' competencies and capacities in a pursuit for rights-based development. The thematic programs are intended to bring about change in favour of poor men and women's economic, political, social and cultural rights. The majority of Ibis Mozambique’s activities are contained in a thematic program.

Currently, Ibis Mozambique has three thematic programs:
Building Citizenship in Mozambique (COCIM) 2008-2012
Education for the Development of Rural Communities (EDEC) 2008-2012
Gateway to Life 2004-2008 (HIV/AIDS Community Response and Advocacy Program)

Previous Thematic Programs include:
Media in Rural Community Development and Civil Society Empowerment (MIRAC) 2003 – 2007
Education for Change in Rural Communities (ECRC) 2003 – 2007
